April 2, 2009

For this meeting we had an extra special treat. We had a tour of our local Burger King! We got to go behind the counter and see how they make the food, store the food, take orders and use the "magic window" (that's the drive-thru window)! They really loved that part...almost more than any other part of the tour. Well, I think the walk-in cooler came in a close second!
Mr. Adam showed us around the kitchen and after our tour they were given crowns and were able to order their dinners. We then ate in the dining room of Burger King and had a review meeting about all the badges we have worked on this year. I think the girls had a really good time. I know Donna and I really found it interesting!
By the way, my battery died so I only got one picture of them at the drink machine...

Our Tour of the Post Office

In March we were given an "exclusive-all access pass" of our local Post Office. Our tour guide was Mr. Tim. The girls had a great time! However, this wasn't just for fun, we packaged up some goodies for a Chaplain who is stationed overseas as part of our Considerate and Caring Petal badge. The Chaplain will then be able to distribute the items to soldiers who need some cheering up and a little touch of home. After we boxed up all our stuff, wrote cute little cards and added our Girl Scout Cookies we headed to the Post Office to see how our boxes get processed for shipping. We were told that it would take about two weeks for our boxes to be sent to our Chaplain. We sure hope he got them!
